2017 Valedictorians Honored

Rebecca Doctor

Providence is honored to recognize Rebecca Doctor as co-valedictorian of the graduating class of 2017. Rebecca has tied with two other students for the highest cumulative GPA in her class. She is a student who is both academically gifted and involved in a wide array of activities. Rebecca joined Providence in 6th grade, moving from the Classical School of Wichita. She has been active in sports at Providence, participating in cross-country, volleyball and basketball. Rebecca has provided excellent leadership to the yearbook over the past two years. She has been the publicity crew leader for the annual Shakespeare play, has served on Student Council the last two years, and has served as Jerome house captain and as a school ambassador. Outside of school she regularly plays the violin at church and has tutored in math and reading at Kumon. She plans to attend Covenant College in Georgia next fall.

Abram Egger

Providence is honored to recognize Abram Egger as co-valedictorian of the graduating  class of 2017. Abram has tied with two other students for the highest cumulative GPA in his class. He is a student who is both academically gifted and involved in a wide array of activities. Abram joined Providence in 3rd grade. He has been active in sports at Providence, participating in cross-country and basketball. He is the Student Council president this year, culminating five years of service on StuCo. Abram has played a variety of roles in our annual Shakespeare play, this year performing the role of Macbeth. He has written for the student newspaper, served as Pythagoras house co-captain, and as a school ambassador. Outside of school he sings in his church choir, Schola Cantorum, and works at Panda Express. He plans to attend Concordia University Chicago next fall.

Brandon Haverdink

Providence is honored to recognize Brandon Haverdink as co-valedictorian of the graduating class of 2017. Brandon has tied with two other students for the highest cumulative GPA in his class. He is a student who is both academically gifted and involved in a wide array of activities. Brandon joined Providence in 7th grade. He has been active in sports at Providence, participating in cross-country – holding the school record for the 5k – and in basketball – graduating as the career leader in points and rebounds. He has been the set construction leader for the annual Shakespeare play, has served on Student Council as a class representative, and has served as Herodotus house captain for three years. Outside of school he leads the audio team at church and works at Panda Express. He plans to attend Union University in Tennessee next fall.
