Mr. Buckles is delighted to have called Providence home since 2013, having taught in the upper school for several years and now serving as headmaster. In addition to his duties as headmaster, Mr. Buckles teaches upper school rhetoric and advanced logic. He has a passion to see students become wise reasoners, masters of eloquent speech, and, overall, men and women of virtue. Chris and his wife, Lindsey, reside in Edwardsville, IL. They are members of Center Grove Presbyterian Church and enjoy spending their leisure time at the theater (live or film), playing board games, eating good food, or playing with their children.

“It is a privilege to teach in a place where I am encouraged to lead students in the training of their affections and appetites to delight in that which is true, good, and beautiful. Classical Christian Education is the realization of Christ’s call in my life to ‘go forth and make disciples’, instilling within them a sense of wonder at the Creator as they develop the skill in language to possess and proclaim His Word. Equipping students to think for themselves and pursue holiness in an age where virtue is so openly rejected and scorned is a necessity for the next generation to shine their light in a dark world and walk humbly with their God.” ~ Mr. Buckles
