Mr. DeJong is excited to serve as the Upper School Latin teacher at Providence! He completed his undergraduate degree at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario in Classics and Philosophy, and earned his Masters of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in Creve Coeur. He lives with his wife Abi in University City. They attend Riverside Church and enjoy going to the Saint Louis Art Museum, Forest Park, and watching television.

As an instructor, I seek to cultivate a love of learning in my students in order to help them grow with respect to virtue as well as knowledge. My hope is that their time at Providence not only gives them tools to think critically, but more importantly is a formative and foundational experience for their character, preparing them for life ahead.
