Why Providence?
At Providence, we ultimately strive to teach children how to learn and what to love.
A classical education helps students know their place in the Great Conversation, learning from those who have come before and interacting thoughtfully with the ideas that have shaped society throughout the millennia. As a PreK-12 school, our curriculum in each grade builds on the prior year with thoughtful intentionality. Beginning with the end in mind, all teachers are well aware of the final goals for each student. Formative years in our lower school (PreK-6) are purposefully building toward the upper school (7th-12th) curriculum and the cultivation of our ideal graduate.
At a time when our culture is becoming increasingly apathetic and even hostile to Christianity, the need for institutions that can preserve and pass down the legacy of our faith has never been greater.
Classical. Christian. Community.
A Providence education is primarily concerned with who a student is rather than what a student knows. As we pursue rigorous academics, we do so with the aim of applying the knowledge and skills acquired to form a fully realized person. Educating the whole person means awakening them to the truth of who God is, who they are, and what they were made to be, which is far more than merely achieving academic proficiency, though it is certainly not less than that. We aim for students to find delight in the leisure of life and all those God-glorifying thoughts and activities that draw us nearer to our Creator.
